Here’s what you can expect at the meeting:

• Coaches will talk about the upcoming season.
• The 2012 Warrior Track Team will be introduced.
• The Booster Club will be selling Track-themed spirit wear
• Refreshments provided by the booster club
• Pizza: “Bring Your Own Pizza” is optional. Bring one large pizza for your family. You do not have bring one if you just want to come out and meet the team and coaches.
• We welcome all – Current, new, and prospective members. Come see how the Booster Club can help the team succeed and how you can contribute.

Madison has officially committed to run for Mississippi State!

Madison has the led the Warrior Cross Country and Track Teams to a number of district championships and regional qualifications.  Individually, she can claim district championships in cross country and track.  Needless to say, she owns school records in the 1600M and Cross Country distances.

She will join a very good program that includes another Martin Warrior, John Valentine.

Track season is upon us!

Practice starts on Monday, January 23 with the first meet on February 25 at Mansfield Legacy High School.

The Warrior season came to a conclusion today.  While the team’s efforts came up a little short, they can look back on their many triumphs for the 2011 season.

The conditions were windy and cold, real “Lubbocky.”

Despite falling short, the team showed the spirit and resiliency that every good team must have to continue putting the work in to keep improving.

Your Martin Warriors will be going to Lubbock to compete against the top runners from West Texas and the western Metroplex on Saturday, 11/5.

The first objective will be to get a top 10 spot to get to State. Essentially that means finishing ahead of as many Southlake Carroll runners as possible. Madison and Olivia have each posted times that are more than competitive on the girls’ side and Cameron is well within striking distance on the boys’ side.

The team prospects face a stiffer challenge as there will be a number of state-ranked (and nationally-ranked) teams from our area that will be there.

The course does no favors either since the terrain includes multiple hills to climb along with Lubbock’s altitude.  The weather should be great for running around 60 degrees at race time. though a bit on the dry side.   At least its not over a 100 degrees!
